Why won’t my Google Home Mini connect to my phone?

My Google Home Mini is set up and connected to the WiFi. My phone is connected to the same WiFi. The speaker shows up in my home app but when I try to use the app to control the speaker, it says it’s disconnected.

Thanks for your message. I am sorry to hear that your Google Nest Mini is not connecting to your phone. Let's resolve this issue and get your device working smoothly and connected. First, I have a quick question.

  • Can you please try to do a reboot and Factory Data Reset on your Google Nest Mini? Are there any improvements? 
    • A factory reset will reset your Google Nest or Home speaker or display to its default factory settings. 
    • Note: This action will clear your data from the device and can't be undone.
