Previously, I've been able to embed videos in Google Slide presentations and cast it from Chrome with no issues. For the last few months, the videos will play but with no sound.
How can I get the embedded videos to play correctly within the Google Slides presentation?

Hi rpryce,
Thanks for reaching out. Is this only happening when using the Chrome browser? Have you tried to use a different browser? Please make sure the Google Slides and Chrome browser are both updated. Also, you could try to go to the search bar and all the way on the right, there's a little icon (volume symbol with an x next to it). Click on it and change permissions from "mute audio" to "always allow sound."
If still doesn't work and you were able to cast content from other Chromecast-enabled apps to your Chromecast, I suggest you get in touch with the Google Slide support for further assistance.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hello,
This is happening on multiple browsers. My Chrome browser is fully up to date.
When I cast, that volume icon does not appear for me; there is only an option to share or bookmark the page.
What should I be doing differently?
Thank you for your help!

Hey there rpryce,
If you don't see the volume icon in the address bar on Google Chrome, you can also use the Lock icon on the left of the URL. From there you can select Sound, then All.
Let me know if that helps! It may also help to have the sound playing while looking for those settings to make sure they show up correctly.
Best regards,
Jeran

Hello,
When I click the lock I can either switch sound on or off or reset permissions. Neither of these options change anything.
I have also gone into site settings and changed sound permissions from "automatic" to "allow" but I am still not able to cast sound from Youtube videos embedded into Slides.
Thank you

Hey there rpryce,
That is an odd issue for sure! In this scenario, I would suggest that you reach out to the Google Docs Editors community, as they are more specialized in Google Slides than we are here in the Chromecast community. They should be able to dig a little deeper than we can.
I'm sorry we couldn't have been more helpful, but if you had any other questions or concerns regarding casting or Chromecast, we'd be happy to address them!
Best regards,
Jeran

Hi rpryce,
Just checking in to make sure that you saw our response. I'll be locking this thread if we won't hear back from you again in 24 hrs. Should that happen, feel free to create a new one if you have more questions or have other concerns in the future.
Thanks for helping out, Jeran.
