I try casting a video from a website and it works for a while but then it starts skipping parts or entering a loop

Hi Robert2023,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. A few questions: what Chromecast device are you using? Is this happening only on that particular website? Are you casting this website using the cast icon from the actual page (not all websites can), or are you doing it via the cast option from the Chrome browser’s menu? Have you tried casting from cast-enabled apps on mobile devices? If you did, have you experienced the same issue? Has there been any recent changes to your network (distance, settings, configurations, etc.)? What steps have you taken?

Give the steps below a try and let me know how it goes:

  • Perform a sequential reboot (Chromecast, router, and casting source).
  • Ensure that the Chrome browser is up-to-date.
  • Try with another device to see if it will do the same.
  • Try a factory reset for a full clean-up.

Thanks,

Kimy

I have tried to cast from my phone to my third gen Chromecast connected to my TV. The site has the casting option and it used to work. Until a couple weeks ago

Also yes, my Chrome browser is up to date, so I will try rebooting it or if it still doesnt work I will preform a factory reset

Hi Robert2023,

I wanted to follow up and see if you still needed help. Were you able to reboot or factory reset your Chromecast device? How did it go?

Warmly,
Alex
