Greetings, this is not a new subject but sadly searching through all of the posts and replies ad nauseam I still have not found a solution. Currently but I tried to play a video on YouTube casted to my TV using my Chromecast, YouTube says that I need to disable restricted mode to play the video. Restricted mode is already disabled across all devices and accounts as far as I can tell. I use YouTube to play music with my massage clients and it's really frustrating to try to start a session and then deal with all this BS. Sometimes it will happen when I try to cast directly from the app for my phone to the TV, but it also has been known to happen when I ask my Google speaker to play the video. The other issue which has been happening now for a few years is that when I ask YouTube to play video via the Google speaker to my Chromecast, I will get told that there are options displaying on the screen and the options are not there. I've purchased three different chromecasts, and all of them start out working fine displaying the options and then it could be a week later or a few months later and then suddenly I can no longer the options that my Google speaker claims are displaying on my screen. When I call YouTube about it they tell me I need to call Google even though they're owned by the same company. When I contact Google they tell me it's a YouTube problem. Everybody wants to claim that it's somebody else's responsibility, between the speaker and the Chromecast and my paid YouTube account etc. I pay for you to premium and I also get commercials on YouTube when I cast using the Google speaker to the Chromecast. I've seen lots of different discussions on the subject and I've tried all the various so-called solutions and none of them work. I'm getting ready to just throw all this crap out the window and replace it with Alexa or some other device and casting option because I am so sick of all this. Randomly the other day all of my smart lights that were attached to my Google speaker suddenly stopped working and I was able to fix it and then a day after I fixed it in one room suddenly the lights in the other room are no longer working even though they worked fine for a full day before that. I'm really tired of Google not standing behind their own products and offering real solutions for people who aren't software developers that are simple and easy and actually work. I'm sure I'm probably just screaming into the void right now because I doubt anyone will have an actual solution because Google and YouTube don't actually give a flying poop about it but I'm hopeful that somebody out there somewhere will have a real solution. The Google speakers are one first generation and one third generation. I have Chromecast of the first second and third versions as well and the issue with the same regardless on all devices.
