Suddenly my Chromecast 2nd Gen is casting blurred images of live news feed to my TV. Has the firmware recently changed? Has the Chromecast reached its end of life? Do I need to buy a new one?
I tried resetting, unplug, restart etc. Nothing is working. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi AZMom241,
Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear about that. Let's check this further.
A few questions: what's the Operating System (OS) version of the device you're using to cast? How far is the Chromecast from the router? Has there been any changes on the router settings? Is this only happening when casting live news feeds?
Try these steps:
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi JenniferV
I have Windows 10.
i have been using this type of connection for over 2+ year. Nothing changed except suddenly started seeing blurred images. I have done all what you had suggested. No success. Only thing that changed was all my Google Chrome updates.
Even with my Gen 1 on another TV, I still had blurred images casting from the same laptop.
Were there any recent Chrome updates that caused problems with the casting for Gen 1 and 2.
How long does the Chromecast last?
Thanks.

Hi there,
Thanks for getting back to us. You may try to reinstall the Chrome browser or use Google Canary then check if the same issue will persist. Using a different device such as a different laptop or mobile phone might also help in isolating the issue.
Also, to answer your other questions, Chromecast devices have no limited lifespan. It still depends on how it is used. With regards to the Chrome browser, you may visit this support article to see more information about the updates on it.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Jennifer
