Google doesn't really define an end of life for Chromecast. Even Gen 1 Chromecast is still supported, but note that is not the same as warranty support.
As an example, for Gen 1, Google has committed (at least in the short term) to continue to support the device for security and bug fixes, but the base underlying Chrome build that Chromecast is built on top of will not be upgraded going forward. That's pretty good going given it was released back in 2013.
Gen 2 and later are still receiving feature updates, in addition to security and bug fixes.
