I am able to set up my Chromecast and it finds my TV. However, it seems to think that the chromecast and my device are using different WiFi when it's not. Please help!

Try these steps:
If you're still experiencing issues after following those steps, it's possible your Wifi router has security settings enabled that are preventing your phone communicating with your Chromecast. Make sure settings such as AP isolation are turned off on your router, and any firewall features on your router that might block incoming connections to your Chromecast aren’t turned on.

I did all that and i am still having that same trouble.

If you've tried all of those steps, particularly in that kind of order, your router likely has a security setting enabled that is preventing Chromecast from working properly. To confirm, is it your own home Wifi router and not a shared tenancy/education/enterprise Wifi network?
