Good day,
I remind you of my question.
I have Chromecast with Google TV 4K after updating to Android 14 UTTC.241218.004.12950887 my Chromecast does not see USB drives. It shows a message, USB drive safely removed. My drives are configured as device mass storage and everything worked fine on Android 12.
The Bluetooth keyboard also stopped working. It is visible in the settings, but you can't type anything using the keyboard because it doesn't work. Searching with the remote control also doesn't work. I can't type anything because the virtual keyboard doesn't appear.
Factory reset doesn't help because it's still Android 14.
When will Google release a patch to fix the bugs? It's been a long time.
Saturday
After the update I have the UTTC.241218.008.H1.13427172 firmware, but my Chromecast with Google TV 4K still does not see USB drives, and the virtual keyboard and external Bluetooth MxKeys do not work. On the external keyboard, only the arrow keys work (up, down, right and left), so the keyboard is paired correctly.
The keyboard does not work only on the home screen. There I cannot search for applications, movies, etc. Even after pressing the magnifying glass (search field), nothing happens.
It works without a problem in installed applications.
I did a factory reset, but my problem is still not solved.

I take it that you done the hard reset by holding the button on the device itself?
Ifso is it recognised by the chromecast? And what usb hub are you using?
Sorry for all the question, I'm p*ssed of as well. But maybe we can find a solution this way.

Of course, I did a hard reset using the button on the device. My Hub is Vemont and it is recognized by Chromecast because after connecting the USB drive, Kingston shows that the device has been safely disconnected.

Ok I didn't mean it bad. Just had to make sure that the advise the community specialist was clearly not the result we were hoping for.
like i mentioned in a later post I can't find a logical reason why the drive is ejected/removed.
and without adb a forced mount is impossible.
Really weird.
Ps upcoming heatwave over here. So thanks you for preventing me for a heart attack.

Hi Sofia_Kapinoss,
Thanks for your prompt response. I appreciate your patience and collaboration. I’m sorry to hear that the inconvenience persists after following the instructions to restore the connection between your Chromecast with Google TV 4K, USB drivers, virtual keyboard, and external Bluetooth MX Keys. It's my pleasure to continue assisting you.
The team would like to learn more about this behavior. When you get a chance, please fill out this form and let us know when you’re finished. We’ll have someone reach out to you via email from there.

Ok some news. After further research I found out that with some users usb is working and other not. Seems to be related by the change in code that renders some usb hubs unusable.
Enough reason to pull the OTA.
H264 hardware decoding is not fixed. And adb access not being fixed.
Only real fix was my problem with tiktok, but that was not done by google. Tiktok discontinued the tv service.
Still strange though that some external usb drives are detected but report as ejected.
This could use some very intensive research from google. Until that research is done pull the ota.
My 2 cents.

I can't confirm or deny that. Samsung neo qled tv here.
Samsung hate paying for stuff like that. And created an inferior standard for free hdr10+.
