Hi there,
I bought a Chromecast HD HDMI device to stream content from a third party streaming app. But I'm having problems setting it up, after connecting to the HDMI input on the TV all I get is 2 errors. 1 is this device does not support this resolution setting, please change your settings, 2 no connection found on this input. Also after switching on the Chromecast my phone or tablet won't find it in checking for devices.
Any help would be great & thanks in advance

What brand and model of TV do you have?
All Chromecast devices require a TV with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) 1.3 or higher built-in. HDCP 2.2 is required to support 4K content. Most televisions that are 5 years old or newer and have HDMI ports will have at least one port that supports HDCP 2.2.
The first thing I would do is check your TV's settings to confirm it is correctly set to 1080p. Refer to the manual that came with your TV or check the manufacturer's support website for more information. You can also try using a different HDMI input on the TV.
As for being unable to find your Chromecast in the app to start setup, what colour is the light on the Chromecast? Are you using the power supply and adapter it came with, plugged into a mains power outlet and not a USB port on your TV?

Hi there
I have a Samsung EU32C4000 TV, with a HD/DVI 1080P supported HDMI input, which is currently running a now TV box without any problems. I originally plugged the chrome cast into HDMI 2 port which brought up the no signal problem. If I plug the cast into the port where the now TV box was plugged into I still get the same no signal problem. When I plug in the Google with the supplied cables & power supply all I get is a constant blinking white light & if I press the button under the light it turns amber then back to a constant blinking white light. I have 4 HDMI ports on my TV & tried all of them, but on HDMI 4 port it comes up with a resolution not supported on this TV please adjust resolution?. Weird.

Hi Davidking,
Thanks for the links, I have tried all the link info & still nothing. And now Google home, when searching for new devices just returns to the what are you looking for menu, I'm going to return the Google cast. Really disappointed & a complete waste of 3 days trying to get something that is supposed to be plug in & go 😡😡

Hi folks,
Thanks for your help here, @David_K.
@Hellbound1, sorry for the delay in response. What Chromecast device are you using? If it’s the version with Google TV, it would require pairing the remote first before the Google Home app could find it. Isolate it by testing it on another TV. Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Kimy
