Chromecast Not Casting

  • Hi, I’ve had the google chrome cast for a few years now and it’s worked perfectly.

Recently we’ve had a new wifi network, and since then I haven’t been able to connect to my chrome cast. I’ve tried using the Bluetooth option, connection to the casts wifi then doing it that way (which got me further than BT). But the only thing it says it that it’s set up but the connection to the wifi can’t be reached or found on my phone?

I’ve updated both my phone and the google home app, I’ve unplugged both the router and chrome cast and plugged them back in, I’ve had a look at my local networks and my Bluetooth settings on the app in my settings, and they’re both on.

I have no idea why this is happening and would really appreciate some help! 🙂

@Sophie_19xo, thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. A few questions: what Chromecast devices are you using? When did it start? Is the TV displaying the home screen or screensaver? Or is it showing any messages?

 

Give the steps below a try and let me know how it goes:

 

  • Try a factory reset.
  • Proceed with setup.
  • If it persists, set it up but connect it to a mobile hotspot instead.
