Chromecast can't sign into Google account

I just bought a brand new Chromecast with Google TV (HD).  I'm trying to set it up, but it won't sign into my Google account (which seems to be the last step in the process to complete the setup).

I've restarted my phone and relaunched the Home app, but still encountering the same problem.  Every time I try to restart the setup, I keep getting blocked because Chromecast can't sign into my Google account.

I don't have this issue with the older generation Chromecast since it doesn't require me to sign into my Google account to complete the setup.  This gen 2 Chromecast is working just fine for me.  Not sure why the latest generation is having issues.

Please advise how to resolve this issue?  Do I need to sign into my Google account to complete the setup?  Is there anyway to circumvent that?

What do you see on screen? What do you see in the Google Home app? Is there an error message?

What kind of account are you trying to use? A normal personal Gmail/Google account? Not a Google Workspace one provided by your place of work or education?

There's no error message.  What I see on both the Home app and TV screen is "couldn't sign into Google account".  It looks like my only option at that point is to restart the setup process, which I attempted to to do multiple times.  But, I always get the same result.  After, the app tries to sign into my Google account, I eventually get the message "couldn't sign into Google account".

The Google account is my personal Gmail account which is the same account I'm already signed into on all my other Google apps, including the Google Home app.

The Home app automatically recognizes the correct Gmail account to sign into without me specifically selecting it.  So, I'm not sure why it can't sign into my account.

Do you have the "advanced protection" account security feature turned on?

How do I tell if I have the "advanced protection" feature turned on?   I just checked the settings on my Google account, and I don't see an option for "advanced" protection.

If you're not sure that probably means you don't have it turned on but to check:

Good to check! Have you tried signing out of your account on your phone and signing in again? It might also be worth removing the Google Home app, and reinstalling it again from the Play Store.

Then reset the Chromecast, then retry setup?

Look like reinstalling the Google Home app and resigning into my Google account worked.  Thanks!
