Chromecast connections

I have done all Google suggestions but I still can't get a WiFi connection to my chromecast don't know what version of cast it is. Literally everything is done factory reset WiFi rebooted everything is done but still won't find wifi

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue setting up your Chromecast. Please try the additional suggested steps below:

 

  1. Check if the Chromecast device is on the same Wi-Fi network as your phone or tablet.
  2. Make sure the Chromecast device is within 15 to 20 feet of the setup device and the Wi-Fi router.
  3. Try to connect other devices to the Wi-Fi network.
  4. Connect to a mobile hotspot.
  5. If you're using a dual band router, check if you're connected to the correct network connection (2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz).
  6. Force close the Google Home app.
  7. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
  8. Reboot your Chromecast and mobile phone.
  9. Use a different wireless device (phone or tablet) to set up the Chromecast device.
  10. Do another reset on your Chromecast.

Well considering the instructions you've given me are exactly the same as I've said I've already done then I'm not doing great at all. I have thrown the chronecast in the bin now as it's obvious it's pointless
