Chromecast factory reset everytime 🤬

Wardy
Community Member

So i have multiple chromecast units set up in my home. They all worked fine until recently one unit “lounge room” keeps disappearing from view when i am trying to cast to a tv to which it is connected.

I have checked all of the recommended tips and rebooted and reset and updated everything multiple times.

My television has learnt a few new swear words as my frustration grows by the day with something i paid money for to enjoy actually causing me to become irritated instead.

Please don’t suggest anything already posted or dare suggest i turn something off and on for the 10,000 time.

Whats going on Chromcast?

Hey there Wardy,

I'm really sorry to hear that your Chromecast is giving you such a headache, I know from experience how frustrating it can be to troubleshoot casting issues. I'd be happy to help you out, I'll just need to ask some questions to understand what's happening:

  • Does the device disappear from Google Home during set-up or only when you try to cast?
  • What's the LED light status?
  • What's the distance between the router and the Chromecast device?
  • What messages does the TV display?

The steps are different depending on how you answer those questions, so I look forward to your response. Of course, if you had any more questions or concerns, please let me know!

Best regards,

Jeran
