Chromecast from Youtube is low quality

allymareek

I have my chromecast plugged into my TV, and I cast from Google Chrome on my laptop.
When I cast Netflix or DisneyPlus, the quality of the picture on the TV is great! But when casting Youtube videos, it's very low quality and pixellated. I have manually changed the "settings" in Youtube to 1080 HD on the video prior to casting, but that doesn't seem to make a difference.

How can I improve the picture for Youtube when casting please?

Hi allymareek,

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue watching YouTube videos on your Chromecast device. Try the steps below:

  1. Clear the cache and data of the YouTube app.
  2. On the mobile device, close and reopen all cast-supported applications.
  3. Reboot your mobile phone, Chromecast, and Wi-Fi router.
  4. Try to use the Chromecast with another TV or High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) display, if possible.
  5. Factory reset your Chromecast.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Jennifer
