Chromecast restart problems

Hello, 

I have not used my chromecast in a while and I changed the wifi at my home. I tried to restart it today. But I noticed it kept blinking between orange and white. So I tried to do a physical reset, and it was unsuccessful, and went to a black screen that told me to go to chromecast.com-startup issues. It keeps doing this, and I don’t think I have the Chromecast remote, and google tv does not recognize any devices near it.

If you saw the startup issues error, that means your Chromecast is in recovery mode. Try these steps:

  1. Disconnect your Chromecast from its power source.
  2. Leave it unplugged for 10 minutes.
  3. Plug the power source back in and allow the Chromecast to go through its full reboot cycle.

As for the remote, you do need the voice remote to setup Chromecast with Google TV. You won't be able to complete setup without it. If you're not able to find the one that came with your Chromecast, you can get a replacement remote from the Google Store.
