Welcome to the Google Nest community! We’re going to need some more information from you to be able to help you. Can you expand on what you mean by not working? What colour is the light on the Chromecast? Do you see anything on the TV?

  • since I can't upload a photo here, it's a bit difficult to explain what the screen looks like at the moment. so.. my chromecast doesn't react at all with the remote control, I can't change anything with the remote control, the chromecast is frozen, nothing works

Try these steps:

  1. Unplug Chromecast from power and leave it disconnected for 30 seconds.
  2. Re-connect Chromecast to power and test.
  3. If the issue persists, factory reset Chromecast and set it up again.
  4. If the issue persists, try using a different power outlet and/or different TV to test.

Then unfortunately, I think we're at the end of the road here. Support for Chromecast (1st gen) ended May 2023, which means these devices no longer receive software or security updates, and Google doesn't provide technical support for them.

For a device launched in 2013, it's had a good run!

Ah, you selected Chromecast (1st gen). If you have Chromecast with Google TV, I can ask a specialist to chime in here and review next steps as that's still supported?
