Hi
May be it was the downtime of my Internet or something else.
My Chromecast is showing the home screen with all apps but none working due to no network, the Chromecast LED is pulsating white(if that matters)
The Chromecast with google tv , has lost wifi and when i am trying to go to settings to turn on wifi , as soon as I reach the wifi option the settings menu freezes and the screen goes blank, I have to press the home button to go back to the home screen.
As It is I am unable to go beyond anything in settings menu apart from display settings ,
Tried resetting to factory settings by pressing the physical button , but it reboots to the home screen by showing an error with a lying green android.
tried restarting my router as well, but still same.
Please suggest what should I do
Thanks in advance
regards
AB

Thanks @David_K
But my chromecast isnt on the recovery android screen..
Its loading my normal home screen just fine.
Unless there is a way to force start a recovery screen I don't think I can access the solution as you pointed.

Right so I was able to access the recovery mode using button combination, but even from there data wipe or factory reset wasnt possible, it seems..
I selected the option and it says erasing and all but again boots up to the normal chromecast home screen with my account and my apps..
Looks like some permission issues..
Anymore insight..??
Just clear it further, I mounted system and ran factory reset command
And this is what I got

I've shared this with the community team for a specialist to review. Just so you know, it may take them a short while to chime in here.

Hi there ABSonline,
Thanks for reaching out to our community, and thanks to David_K for tuning in.
It can be confusing if your Chromecast suddenly goes offline, but don't worry! Let's see what we can do about it.
The pulsating white light on your Chromecast can mean two things: either the Chromecast is offline (as seems to be the case) or waiting to be paired in the Google Home app.
Let me know: do you currently have this Chromecast set up in the Google Home app? If you do, I suggest following this article on how to change your Chromecast's Wi-Fi network. If it's on the Google Home app, you can also try performing a factory reset from there.
Make sure your Chromecast is close enough to your router and that it's not covered by anything that could cause it to overheat (like a blanket, for example).
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Angel.

Hi
Thank you for getting back @aperezdeleon
Yes the chromecast is setup with google home app, but since the WiFi in chromecast is switched off (and I am not able to turn it on, as explained above ) it shows offline in the Google home app, hence I can't so anything via the Google home app.

Hi ABSonline,
Thanks for the update.
Since you don't have access to the Google Home app settings because the Chromecast is showing offline now, I suggest filling out this form. After you submit it, please let me know so a member of my team can reach out to you via email. That way, we can take a closer look at your Chromecast and determine the best course of action.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Angel.
