FuboTV app not available on Google TV Streamer

I switched from a Google Chromecast to a Google TV Streamer and now I no longer have FuboTV as an available app, which is the main app that I use. I have reverted back to Google Chromecast for now. Will FuboTV be supported on Google TV Streamer?

Hi a_k,

Thank you for reaching out to our community.

I’m sorry to hear that your Google TV Streamer 4K doesn't have the FuboTV app, which is the main app that you use.

  • What steps have you taken to install the Fubo TV app on your Google TV Streamer 4K?
  • Are you seeing an error message when attempting to install the Fubo TV app?
  • Could you please tell me if you tried to discover the Fubo TV app among the apps you already use? (To do this, navigate to the Google TV Streamer 4K home screen and scroll down to "Apps from my other devices.").

Thank you for your kind attention. I will be looking forward to your response.

Best regards,

Virna

Today is November 16 2024.  I have the same problem.  This is unreal.  All other apps work but no FUBO?  How can this be?  This needs immediate correction.  The message is that FUBO is not available on this device.  This is a NEW GOOGLE STREAMER - A NEW ONE.  The Fubo app is available on every other device.

Hi ldronglien,

Thank you for posting in this community.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having the same inconvenience as a_k reported. I understand how frustrating it is not to find the Fubo app in the options available in the apps tab of your Google TV Streamer. No worries; it is my pleasure to assist you with this inconvenience.

Here I’m sharing with you the instructions to find and install apps when they are not in the options to choose from the “apps tab” of your Google TV streamer:

Search for an app.

  1. Press the Assistant button on your remote or select the option “Search” (lens icon) on the home screen.
  2. Say or type the name of the app you want to install.
  3. If the app is available, a page will appear with the app.
  4. Select Install.

Browse for apps

  1. From the Google TV home screen, scroll to the "Apps" tab.
  2. To browse for apps, move up or down to find different categories. When you find a category you're interested in, move to the right to find items. You can also select a category from the "App Categories" section.
  3. Select the app or game you want.
  4. To install the app or complete your purchase, follow the on-screen instructions.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Virna

@virnab the problem is that when you search for Fubo through the Assistant button or "Search" option (with Google TV Streamer), no apps appear. So the app is not available for install. Which is odd because it works fine with Chromecast. If I try to browse for apps, it is not there either, even though it was previously installed with Chromecast.  The other apps that I had previously installed show up correctly.

@virnab Can you procure a Google TV Streamer and verify that you see the same issue?

For the time being, I am not using the Google TV Streamer and will have to return it if this issue is not resolved.  I have reverted back to my Chromecast.

Make sure your device country and Google play account associated with this device are set to USA and are running android os 5 and above.

Has anyone gotten the Fubo TV app to show up on their new Google TV Streamer yet?  I just got one for Christmas and set it up and no Fubo 😞   If so, can you please tell me how?  Thanks.

It MAY have something to do with what @jsn1 mentioned. I didn't change/update anything, but I unplugged my Google TV Streamer and plugged my old Chromecast back in and Fubo was working as usual (on the Chromecast). I tried plugging the Google TV Streamer in again and now Fubo shows up. So I would try unplugging Google TV Streamer and either plugging in your Chromecast (if you had one) or try logging into Fubo on your phone just so that Google Play remembers your country. Then try plugging in the Google TV Streamer again. See if that helps.

This seems to be some kind of initial account permission or sync issue.  I stepped away and came back about 9 hours later and searched the the app again and it showed up.  Very strange.
