MLB.tv app not all functions are working

I have google tv streamer and through the MLB.TV app I can play the recap or condensed version of a game but I cannot watch the game live or the full game on replay. 
Can you help with this, it has just started doing this prior to 2 days ago it was working fine.

I am having the same problem. Tried factory resetting tv streamer and tv but nothing has helped so far. Very frustrating!

Im having the exact same problem, has there been a resolution?

Only started the other day, before this the app worked perfectly on the google device.

I’ve done all the same troubleshooting, checked internet speeds, deleted and reinstalled app, reset settings and nothing is working.

Ill have no choice but to cancel my mlb subscription, so frustrating.

I’m curious as to whether those of us having this issue are outside the US? I am in New Zealand. I’m wondering if it’s a location permission issue. Thanks. 

I’m in Australia if that helps, might be an issue only affecting customers outside the US.

Same issue, I sent a message to MLB support on Sunday but haven't heard back. I am also in New Zealand. Everything works fine off a PC or my phone, but on both my android TVs the exact same app functions as OP suddenly stopped working. Condensed or recaps are fine, but full games it endlessly loads. It's definitely at MLB's end, they've made a change somewhere which has broken it.  

Ditto here in NZ. Started last week. Definitely their end not ours. Am casting from phone but not ideal in the long term.

Im In Scotland and have this same issue, was working perfectly 2 days ok, but now can't load any full games only Recaps, I have also tried all recommendations to no avail...the app is still working on my Samsung TV..but I prefer the picture and options on the Google TV..Im assuming it's a Google TV problem??

I have the same issues, only with the MLB tv app, but I can cast from my phone to the Chromecast... I feel its a MLB.TV issue as condensed/recaps of games works fine, as do the live minor league games, its just the big leagues not working.

I'm pretty much certain at this point the outage is caused by MLB. The problem began on both my TVs simultaneously, and they are different models. Neither had any updates of any kind and I've ruled out all other potential causes at my end. Then to add to that other people around the world are having the exact same issue at the same time. I don't believe there will be a solution until MLB apply a fix somewhere. Likely the problem is in:

  • Stream authentication

  • Content delivery network (CDN) paths

  • Ad server dependencies

  • Playback protocol changes for full streams and live games

    I suggest everyone log a ticket with MLB support so they at least are aware of the issue? 

I have done this. They got back to me today with standard questions about my set up. We will see what happens (if anything, sigh) from here.

After a few back and forth emails, mlb sent me the generic android fix from the q&a page.

Page won’t let me attach the link. Unfortunately this didn’t help me.

I'm in Sydney Australia same problem Android TV app wont load live games no issue via a PC. Sp annoying. I lodged a customer support ticket 5 days ago no reponse. I can watch ESPN games live its definately something at their end.

I am in Australia and are also having this issue. I can watch all content except live or archived games. I have contacted mlb support and waiting for a solution. I can cast games from my phone to my TV. This issue seems to be exclusively with the TV app. All others apps on my TV are working okay

Yet another voice adding to the chorus, in Aus and the TV app just stopped working. Works fine from my PC browser and phone app, have done all the uninstalling, restarting, updating possible on the TV and in app but no joy. Australian also.

Same issue in Romania, Europe.Can't watch live games, but if I cast from my phone, works fine.I will contact MLB support, hope they fix it as soon as possible.

  • Force close the MLB.TV app on your device.

  • Clear the cache for the MLB.TV app.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the MLB.TV app.
  • Try casting from another device (e.g., a different phone or tablet) if you have one available.

I have tried all the above steps and can confirm the following:

- mlb app on other devices casts to tv.

- other apps cast (you tube etc), cast to tv.

- other apps on google box all work fine.

- all troubleshooting you have mentioned still does not rectify the error.

- error is related to mlb app on google box only.

All the above troubleshooting you have mentioned has been discussed by numerous posters and the problem is limited to the google box and still exists.

Thanks for the advice.  All of the above is per the MLB website also fyi. Everyone here on this forum  confirms these steps do not resolve the issue. My understanding is the issue relates to the MLB TV App not via the MLB website login. The MLB TV App I downloaded from Google Play Store on my SONY Bravia TV. If I log into the website on a PC i can watch live game broadcasts. I cannot watch live game broadcasts via the Tv app. I can select a game but the connection to the braodcast keeps hanging every time. Up until a week ago i could watch live games via the MLB TV App (no casting required). Everyone seems to be having the same or similar issue.  

I have also tried all the fixes above. Everything else on chromecast works fine, except for watching full archived and live baseball games on the MLB app. As you have hopefully seen on this thread there are many other people outside the USA that are suffering from this issue and it all started at the same time. Please fix it as soon as possible.

Perhaps an update your end with corrupted code?

*** The following workaround worked with my fire TV. I live in Japan.

Last Sunday, I got the feedback from MLB.TV customer service that says;;

"Please try changing the time zone on your device to Eastern Standard Time and then attempt to watch the games again."

With  this trick, the same issue you guys have was solved with my amazon fire TV. After confirming the fix, I changed the time zone back to Japan, and the MLB.TV full video streaming remains working fine. 
Now my remaining issue is on my SONY google TV which does NOT have a capacity to change the time zone...

Hope this input helps some of you...

Now my mlb app on my phone is playing up with live feed and archived games here in NZ.

Hi, I live in Australia and have both firestick and google tv streamers.  Change the time zone on the firestick to US Eastern Daylight Savings time then do a restart for the firestick.  The same fix applies to google tv streamer.

I changed the time zone on my Chromecast to New York (I am in Brisbane), as per some of the suggestions, this resolved the issue.

How do you know it fixed the issue if there are no live games being streamed?

Im only saying this because condensed games/ recaps were working before the issue arose.

The problem also affected viewing archived whole games.    With the fix, archived games can now be accessed (I assume this will also allow me to view live games).

Changing the timezone to an Eastern US timezone, restarting and then changing the timezone back resolved the issue for me. Still took a little longer than normal to launch the game but did work in less than 10 seconds.

If you are doing it on firestick you need to restart it for it to work. I haven't tried it on google tv

Hi guys. I commented yesterday and wanted to provide an update on my end. The issue is still not solved however I have noticed another problem. When I choose a game on my phone to watch it's only allowing me to watch the home team broadcast. It doesn't even give me the option to watch the road team broadcast at all. This has never been the case with MLBTV and I am wondering if that's why we can't view the games on our TV. When you choose a game on the TV app it still shows alternate broadcasts but won't load either. There is some major change not fully in effect or it's a just a general error. Has anyone had any reply from Major League Baseball customer support yet?

I got a reply.  I’m in the Netherlands and using Google TV to access games.  First through email I got assigned a case number and a request to call them.  I replied that I didn’t want to call so they sent me a load of questions about what kind of devices I am using.  A form letter, thus.  I opted to call them and got a call center in India.  They recognize that there is a problem on their end and advised me to change my Google tv time settings to Eastern time, which I can’t figure out how to do.  The next morning I was able to watch the Orioles/Marlins game, but none other.  I also can’t figure out how to cast it from my iPhone; there’s no casting icon by the video.
