I have an OLED TV with the Google TV app build in on the TV. Picture quality looks great and the blacks in very dark areas are true blacks as expected from an OLED TV. Recently I bought the Google TV Streamer, which is way faster and have way better sound than the Google TV build in on the TV, but in comparison, the picture quality on the Streamer is worse, color lacks detail and blacks are kind of washed out, I mean blacks are not true blacks. This easily noticable on black bars on movies which looks blueish, reddish or greyish rather than true black. Looks like blacks are brighten up, and no matter how adjust the TV options, can't have tru blacks using the Streamer. This not happening at all with the Google TV build in on the tv which black bars are totally black. Again, this issue only happens with the Streamer Google TV device. I spend hours changing the streamer screen different options with no luck, and I can't find any picture adjust options like gamma, brightness, contrast, etc on the Streamer options. Now my OLED TV have washed out blacks and looks just like a regular LCD TV thanks to the horrid bad gamma calibration on the Google TV Streamer and even worse, there's no options to fix this annoying issue.

To make it clear I'm using EXACTLY the same tv picture settings on both Google TV platforms, Google TV build in tv and Google TV Streamer device, and with the Google TV Streamer blacks looks washed out, not true blacks. Again, using the exact tv picture settings, and It doesn't matter which settings I use on the tv, I can't have true blacks using the Streamer, just washed out blacks. I've even tried put it down to the minimum brightness and gamma settings on the tv, and the blacks still looks washed out.

Hi there,
Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you are experiencing washed-out blacks and poor color detail when using your Google TV Streamer on your OLED TV. I appreciate you sharing that you spent hours changing the Streamer screen options with no luck and that you've noticed this issue is only happening with the Streamer, which helps pinpoint the problem. It sounds concerning when a new device doesn't live up to the display quality of your TV's built-in system, especially since trying various settings hasn't helped. I'm happy to assist you!
I would like to share some troubleshooting steps that might help you:
Also our team is aware of this issue and is actively investigating to find a fix. In the meantime, please file your feedback in the Google Home app.
Keep me posted.
Best regards,
Eduardo

I appreciate you replying on this comment, I have gone through the motions troubleshooting and just returned it and bought an Apple TV. Worked perfect out of the box. Sucks because we have google cameras throughout the house
