So I'm enjoying, relatively speaking, the Chromecast with Google TV 4K. However, I'm coming to this product after having an ONN Android TV which is basically the same thing-just a different brand.
There is one tiny feature the ONN Android TV has on its controller and in its capability that I wish Google TV could incorporate or add a function to support it.
It's a very simple task I'm talking about and that is a button on the remote that you can push to open up the settings menu at any time without leaving the current screen you're watching.
With Google TV, if I want to go to the settings menu I have to completely exit out of whatever I'm watching or doing at that time and then go into the settings to adjust whatever it is I'm seeking to adjust. This is extremely annoying and very inconvenient because 9 times out of 10 I find when I try to go back to what I was watching before it hasn't shown up in my "recently watched" just yet so I have to completely go back into the app and into whatever I was watching.
With the ONN Android TV version there's a simple settings button and it will open up the settings menu while I'm watching whatever I may and I can adjust the settings and then quickly hit the back button and I'm back into the action. It doesn't affect my watching experience whatsoever... Except of course for the area I may have adjusted.
Really wish Google TV would adopt this into their programming so that it can be more easily accessible in any instance whether you have the remote or also on your phone as your remote or in any way.
I'm adamant about this feature, especially since there are so many issues with the Bluetooth staying connected to speakers outside the "energy saving mode" being activated or the screen going to sleep.
Every time I go into Google TV to start watching I have to repair the speakers. They have included the ability to just hit an option to "re-connect" but this hardly ever works. And yes, so there's no confusion, I'm pairing my Nest Audio speakers (stereo-pair) to the Google TV for theater sound.
So there really shouldn't be an issue since I'm staying within the game brand family here.
If anyone knows a trick or tip to accomplish what I'm talking about I'd love to hear it because there's nothing more annoying than FINALLY finding something to watch but when it starts you realize you have to repair accordingly, but on top of that to have to exit to the homepage just to get to settings is ridiculous. At this point, I probably won't be buying another Google branded streaming device. For half the cost the ONN is way more user friendly and capable. I'm not trying to start a rant or brand battle here. I'm just adding my opinion based on logical observation.

Hey there BasikBlack,
Welcome to the Chromecast Community Forum! I've actually used the Quick Settings feature on other Google TV devices before as well, and I personally loved them as well. If you don't mind, would you be able to submit feedback via Google TV to let Google know this is a feature you'd like to see with the Chromecast with Google TV? Google takes all submitted feedback seriously, and the more feedback they receive regarding a particular feature, the more likely they are to look into it.
I look forward to your response, and if you have questions or concerns for me, please let me know! Otherwise, I'll go ahead and lock the thread in 24 hours.
Best regards,
Jeran
