Thank you for your patience as we worked to resolve the issue with Chromecast (2nd gen) and Chromecast Audio devices. As of today, this disruption has been fixed.
If you did not perform a factory reset, your device should now function normally. If it is still not functioning as intended check the firmware version of your device by following the instructions here. If your device is not on the corresponding firmware version, please try rebooting your device to start the update process.
For users who have performed a factory reset, you will need to update your Google Home app to the latest version (3.30.1.6 for Android and 3.30.106 for iOS) to set up your Chromecast (2nd gen) or Chromecast Audio device again. The app roll out has begun and may take a few days to roll out to everyone. Weโll post a confirmation once the roll out to all users is complete.
We sincerely apologize for this disruption and any inconvenience it may have caused, and we are committed to ensuring all users are back up and running as quickly as possible.

Thank you again for your patience, we have some good news - the fix should reach all users today. If your device has received the update it should be on the following firmware versions:
Chromecast (2nd gen): Firmware version 1.56.467165
Chromecast Audio: Firmware version 1.56.467166
Check the firmware version of your device by following the instructions here. If your device is not on the corresponding firmware version, please try rebooting your device to start the update process.
Please note: If you performed a factory reset during the troubleshooting process, you may still be experiencing an issue where you cannot re-setup the device. The team is working diligently to resolve this, and we will provide next steps as soon as possible.

BTW, my Chromecast was not factory reset. It was just turned off when the TV was off

Para volver a configurarlo sin que salga el error de autenticidad, solo tienes que cambiar la fecha antes del 9 de marzo.. configuras el chromecast para que se que se conecte a red. No se puede puede enviar contenido despues pero esta conectado para que reciba la actualizacion

Desde el pasado dรญa 9 del presente mi Chromecast pรฉrdida de acceso debido a que ya no contaba con licencia el producto, sรฉ que estรกn trabajando en esto pero quisiera saber quรฉ va a pasar con los equipos que reiniciamos de fรกbrica los cuales ya no van a estar conectados a internet y no van a recibir la nueva licencia , quiero saber cรณmo lo voy a poder utilizar nuevamente .

Desde anoche ya me funciona Chromecast. Yo habรญa restablecido a valores de fรกbrica, pero no lo hagรกis. Lo que hice es retrasar la fecha de mi tablet (lo preferรญ al mรณvil por repercusiones de automatismos de la domรณtica de la casa y otras apps) a un mes antes y despuรฉs lo reinstalรฉ, asรญ t saltas la lรญnea de comando de la expiraciรณn de licencia, y despuรฉs simplemente esperรฉ a que se cargara la actualizaciรณn de google para el Chromecast (que es lo que tendrรฉis que hacer los que no habรฉis restablecido a fรกbrica) y ya estรก. AHORA FALTA VER COMO NOS COMPENSAN LOS CASI 6 DรAS CON SERVICIO. ยฟVerdad seรฑรณr Google? ยฟcuentas de almacenamiento extendidas gratuitas, o geminรญ pro de por vida por la gran cagada? ยฟUn porcentaje grande de descuento para otro producto?

Do we have a timeline on this at all? I got a streamer yesterday but that did not work as well... Thank heavens Officeworks has a 30 days return policy... might go the Apple way.. cannot waste a weekend over this...Honestly folks if its a global issue, the fix cannot take this long!!
