Hi @ronmel49!

Thanks for posting in the community.

I’m sorry for the inconveniences that you are experiencing with your Google TV streamer. I can see that previously you were able to choose pictures from Google Photos to use as a screensaver, but it suddenly stopped. Let me help you with this.

Here are some steps for you to follow:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap and hold your device's tile.
  3. In the top-right corner, tap Settings.
  4. Scroll down, then tap Ambient mode and choose Google Photos.

In the meantime, you can check the next article for further information: Ambient screensaver for Chromecast and Google TV Streamer

Tell me how it goes.

Regards,

Daniel.

I've tried that too. Google Photos is not available as an ambient screensaver for Google TV Streamer. There is that option in Chromecast that I have. I haven't had Google TV Streamer for a long time but it was there from the beginning and I used it too. The option suddenly disappeared. I suspect that there was a system update and that it has this bug. I live and use it in Sweden.

@ronmel49 - There have been some recent updates to the Ambient Mode app in the TV Streamer that has been causing all sorts of issues.

For me, the only way to connect the TV Streamer to my Google Photos was through the Google Home app by:

  1. Open the Google Home app
  2. Go to Devices tab (from the bottom of nav bar)
  3. The the device
  4. Select it and then the settings gear icon (top right)
  5. Select Ambient mode
  6. Select Google Photos and configure as required.
