Users have to re-connect to Chromecast Moderator by typing the code every time

Users have to re-connect to Chromecast Moderators by typing the code every time when their laptop is off or sleeps. Although the user group has already been set up "Cast moderator device duration: one year" but it doesn't seem to work. Have tried one day or one month, none of them is working as described...

There is another thing I don't really understand: devices would have no name if they are set up with the TV itself in order to have the Cast Moderator app, then how would it stay in users' device just like the older type of Chromecast which are set up via Google Home? There is no new name or default name on the casting list after clicking 'Stop casting' or turn of the laptop or the Chromecast. It just doesn't stay...

Your advice would be greatly appreciated 😉

Have tried casting from both Windows laptop and Macbook, yes I can cast but the Chromecast doesn't stay.

Hello @VinceMBI,

Thanks for posting in the community.
I know how difficult the issue is that you are having, and I appreciate the detailed information you have provided. To help troubleshoot this issue effectively, please help me answer the questions below:

  • What type of Chromecast do you have?
  • When did the issue start?
  • Is this the first time you are encountering this issue?
  • Did you try any troubleshooting steps?

In the meantime, you can try the following steps:

  1. Make sure you have a strong signal and your laptop and Chromecast are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Make sure both your Chromecast and laptop are running the latest software versions.
  3. Verify that you're using the same Google account on your laptop and Chromecast.
  4. Restart your Chromecast, router, modem, and device you are using to cast.

Please let me know how it goes. Thank you.

Regards,
Jorge
