Voice commands to play videos turn on Google TV but does not play video

I have an older Chromecast on one tv and a newer Google TV on another TV. I have a Google Home Mini and a Google Nest Mini. Both communicate to all devices, however the Google TV will not play content with voice commands.

 

For example, if I ask either device to "Play Schitts Creek on Living Room TV" (the device with the newer Google TV) they say okay and turn on the TV. However, instead of playing the media, it just takes me to the home page. Even if I am on the home page and say the same command, nothing plays. 

 

If I ask the same command to play on "Bedroom TV" (the device with the older Chromecast), it turns on the TV and begins playing the show just fine.

 

All devices are connected to my Netflix account, all devices are up to date (just did a reset on them all), and i am using the latest version of Google Home on my Pixel 4 XL.

 

Any guidance or feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for posting. Let's check on this further.

 

A few questions — is this happening in all casting apps or just for Netflix? Have you tried to use the Google Assistant button on the remote instead and check if it will work? You could try to unplug your Chromecast with Google TV from the wall outlet, and plug it back in after 10 minutes.
