Wifi can't communicate with chromecast

I had the chromecast already installed before. today I changed my wifi password and also I changed my wifi from 5ghz to 2.4 ghz. The chromecast is able to find the wifi and I can also change the new wifi password in the home chromecast app, but it will not connect. It says: Can't communicate with chromecast. How do I make my chromecast connect with my wifi again?

Forget the WiFi network with previous password and connect to the WiFi network with the new password.

Reboot the Chromecast device - unplug it from the main power grid for about 5 minutes then plug it back in.
