Youtube TV channels disappeared from Live tab

After a recent software update I can't see Youtube TV channels on the Live tab anymore. I've tried resetting my Chromecast to factory settings and restarting everything from scratch but it still only has the Google Freeplay channels on the Live tab and have to open the Youtube TV app to watch rather than seeing those channels in the Live tab. Is this the intended functionality now or is there a way to get back to how it was before?

Same issue many channels missing I don't have a list of YouTube channels everything is weird can't get to local stuff at all. Taking a while to figure out it's got to be the Chromecast

Same issue. 

If I got to "apps" and select YouTube TV it comes up and all my channels are available. But, if I just navigate to the live tab from the main Chromecast menu it only shows Google channels. Hoping for a fix!

Missing for me as well. Tried restarting the Google TV Streamer, clearing the cache and a few other things, no luck so far. I hate how unreliable Google products are getting.

Same here just this mourning. Checked my location settings, uninstalled youtube tv and re-installed, re-booted, removed power for a number of minutes. Nothing worked.

Also, I have the same email for both youtube and google and I used the remote and the systemsetting to check for updates. Still not working right, youtube tv works its just not integrated with google live tv guide.

As of last night (8/20/25) both Chromecasts and the Streamer show only Categories of shows, no Live by channel and time. And, our Library has been erased. App on iPad and iPhones works as usual. Any update on a fix?

I couldn't find my library either. 

Try going to apps, than YouTube tv app, open it and it should pull everything up. If you hit back live and library will be at the top and all my DVR stuff was there. Not a permanent solution but temp fix to get your live and library.

Your library has not been erased...but you have to access it AFTER you open the Youtube TV app.   I have the same situation...in Shawnee.

Glad I'm not the only one. Would be nice to get something official. The work-around via the app is annoying.

YouTube TV is also missing from the list of services when you click on Manage Services.  So something about the last app update probably changed so Google TV no longer sees YouTube TV as an option.

Thanks for pointing that out. It led me to go to my linked services in the YTTV app on my Chromebook, where I could see that my YTTV account was still linked but the box was not checked. So I checked the box and that fixed the problem (for now, at least.) Didn't even have to reset or restart the device.

I don't have a Chromebook but every other device I have checked I don't have this option to even view. Where would I go to check this?

I have tried from a windows device as well as my Pixel phone and tablet.

My Google app says it’s not available yet under manage services ( ie not listed). Very aggravating

Same issue for me, for all four Chromecast in the house. YouTubeTV also doesn't show up as an account linked service anymore, but I can still access my live channels through the app and the subscription is active.

I tried factory reset and it worked initially last night, but I just turned it back on today and YTTV disappeared from my services again. Super frustrating.

Thanks for this. After seeing your reply, I did the same thing through the "Google TV" app on my phone. Started the app, tapped the account button in the upper right corner (the circle with my picture in it) tapped "Manage services," found YouTube TV on the list (it was unchecked), hit the check box, and exited. It immediately fixed the problem on the streamer box.

Update as of today, I accessed the Google TV app on the phone for both accounts associated with the Chromecasts, disabled and re-enabled the YTTV service linked to the account, then restarted each Chromecast. So far, YTTV is now showing up in the Live tab. Fingers crossed it sticks.

Ditto ... I was concerned I found some backdoor key/button sequence when I used the remote.

Favorites and Recently Played are missing.  Now on the Live tab, it defaults to Google TV Freeplay.

After monkeying around for awhile, I did a factory reset on Chromecast device.  No joy.

Hoping by posting a reply here, I somehow get a notification when there is some sort of response from Google/ABC/YT/etc

This worked for me....

Go to the Gear Icon

Select All Settings

Select Accounts and Profiles

Pick you account

Select Your Services (manage your services)

Turn on YouTube TV

The biggest issue for most is that YouTube tv is not showing up on that list to select.

Same thing. No library or YouTube TV on Live Tab. Plus YTTV not in list of Managed Services under account management. Where is an official response from Google? System update is not available on Settings/System screen.
