After a recent software update I can't see Youtube TV channels on the Live tab anymore. I've tried resetting my Chromecast to factory settings and restarting everything from scratch but it still only has the Google Freeplay channels on the Live tab and have to open the Youtube TV app to watch rather than seeing those channels in the Live tab. Is this the intended functionality now or is there a way to get back to how it was before?

Ditto this. So far, I've seen nothing from Google acknowledging a problem.

Same issue, this started on Wednesday for us. I have tried updating Google TV and the YTTV app but the problem still persists.

I was able to finally fix it on my end. Yay!
I'm using the Google streamer.
Settings - apps- YouTube TV. Cleared cache, cleared data, uninstalled. I then reinstalled YouTube TV and rebooted the Google streamer.
No go until I went to accounts and profiles, and on my profile went to the manage your services. Services. YouTube TV finally showed up and I was able to toggle it on. I can't remember if I rebooted again or not, but after a few moments, the suggestions and favorites and everything showed back up on my live tab.

This seems to have done the trick for me (for now at least)

Dang, got excited but tried this on a Chromecast ultra and no dice. 😔

Thanks for the suggestions but it didn't work for me either.

UPDATE - I just spent an hour with Google Support and they say the issue is on YouTube's end so don't waste an hour like I did.
This worked. Took about a half hour for it to kick in but then all were fixed even though I only did it to one tv. Thank you!

Glad this worked for you. Does not work on our Streamer. Was told that this may be the new interface for TV. If so, we’ll be dropping this service. Can anyone from Google ever respond?

I can't find it now, but Google does know and admits that it is a known issue. I found it on the Google support site. So they know it's an issue, but they haven't mentioned anything about how to fix it yet.

What happens when you delete the Data? Have deleted the cache...but am hesitant on the data. Does it nuke all your passwords for all your other services?
Deleting the cash and the data does not hurt anything or affect anything. When you reinstall, you'll have to select your Google account to log back in to YouTube TV because the data was erased. But that's it. All your favorites and everything will be back

Out of curiosity. Do you have more than one device you are using? When I did it to my living room TV it actually fixed the other TVs I have with Chromecast Google TV. I went to do it on the other TV and it had fixed itself
Just curious if maybe the one I happen to do it on was the corrupt one.

I believe if they all use the same email address fixing one fixed all. This worked for me and then my other 2 were good and I didn't have to do anything

Most likely, within the next day it will run updates again and you'll be back where you started.

And this method did not work on my Google TV stick.

It looks like that older versions of the Chromecast won't have the YouTube TV showing on the live tab anymore.

Everything is back this morning. Hope everyone else has the same luck.

I just got my YTTV service back. I don't know if it was good timing or if this helped...
On my Chromecast with Google TV, I went to All Settings - System - About - System update and checked for updates. It said that my system is up to date. After that, I went to my Accounts & Profiles, selected my account and Your services. This time YouTube TV was listed (right at the top). I enabled it and it did not immediately appear on the live tv listing. I went back and toggled it off/on and it finally appeared.
Dang, got excited. Just tried this but YouTube tv was still gone from services list.... Shoot.
Glad that worked for you, but Youtube TV does not even show up in my Services...which obviously is the entire problem. Comforting that a zillion others are having the same problem I am. Spent at least an hour chatting with youtube tv tech help yesterday...and they were not able to help. In fact, it appears the girl I spoke with did not even know this was a problem.

krp1962 has the solution. It was simple. You should get paid by Google for solving this.

Made it to my other house that uses the same type Chromecast/Google TV device, and it is working fine. In the Services section, YouTube TV is at the top of the list as a Subscription Account Linked - and it is selected (blue). Something tells me there has been an issue with the account linkage. I'm reasonably confident they will never admit to what the issue was, it will just mysteriously start working on everything again.

And it is fixed on the TV at the other house, too.

I was able to get this working on my two devices (2nd gen and Streamer) after updating the device, rebooting and YTTV showed up as disabled under Linked Accounts in my Profile. I enabled it and could see YTTV in the Live Guide again.
Tried to help my mom (3 x 2nd gen), but this didn't work. Uninstalled YTTV app and reinstalled after trying everything above and it finally showed up in Live Guide on 2 of the 3, but the next day it disappeared again.
She's across the country, so it's hard to support her. I worked with Google support with no luck. Super frustrating.

I’m having this issue on 3 of my TVs all using Chromecast. My father, on his own account about 2 hours away started having the problem on both his TVs with chromecast the day before me. Google really seems to have dropped the ball on this one! I’d love to see an official acknowledgment if one exists

My 2 Chromecast/Google TV devices straightened themselves out after a few days. YouTube TV had disappeared from the Services section in the settings area. After a couple of days, it reappeared in the section as a Linked Account, and resumed working correctly. Give it some time and see if it resolves itself.

I am too having this issue. Any word from google tv folks on a possible fix soon?

This issue just magically resolved itself for me last night. I didn't do anything. Weird.

Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry to hear that you have been experiencing issues with your Chromecast, Chromecast Ultra, and Chromecast with Google TV devices, specifically with YouTube channels disappearing from the Live tab.
I appreciate you trying some troubleshooting steps already, such as a factory reset, restarting the device, or clearing the cache and data for Google TV. I completely understand how frustrating this situation is, but don't worry! I have some information that might help.
First, I'd like to thank everyone who has shared workarounds for this issue. I appreciate your efforts. I have some specific steps that might be useful for this situation. Please try the following:
Note: Recommendations on Chromecast will show for the Google TV Account on the Chromecast, not the purchaser's account of the YouTube TV subscription.
I hope this works! If it doesn't, please let me know, and I would be more than happy to assist you further.
Best regards,
Debora

The YouTube TV app has not worked well for multiple profiles for as long as I know. We have 2 accounts on our Google TV Streamer and our previous CC w/Google TV. On the regular YouTube app, whoever is logged into Google TV, gets logged into the YouTube app. However, for YouTube TV, the account does not automatically switch over and you have to switch accounts in both the Google TV homepage and YouTube TV. I've heard some people complain of the same issue but I really wish that would get fixed to improve this experience a little more.

DeboraJ,
Thanks for replying...but everyone who is experiencing this problem has been using Youtube TV for years...with no problems. Suddenly, overnight, Youtube tV disappears from our TVs. Yes, we can still see it if we select the app, But, that is new. And...the channel guide has disappeared from the left side of the screen where it has been since day one. Certainly everyone had been signed in correctly, for years. I changed nothing, but my TV screen certainly did. This may be Google's idea...on purpose...they have not said. They do own Youtube, so they could do anything they want. We would just like to know, if this is the way it will be 'forever', or if they are working on a bug in their update.

Mine is fixed on both of my Chromecast/Google TV devices now. The only thing I might have done that helped was going into the Google TV App on my phone and swapped to a different (non-YouTube TV) Gmail account of mine, and then switched it back to the Gmail account associated with my YouTube TV account. This may or may not work for you.

On my phone app all of a sudden You Tube TV was in list of services. Got home and it was there on Streamer. Everything back to normal.

Mine is working again. Didn't do anything. Boom and it's there.

Hi Debora. Our family appreciates your thoughtful response. But...it doesn't work. We have three associated emails with the account Manager email in Family Sharing, and we're still missing the Live channels by time and all Library recordings are gone when logged in as the Manager email. Yes, we can go through the YTTV app and get the interface and Library again, but this is a clear breach of functionality, one that we're now paying for every day we have to take this extra step.
Some of us are missing the core functionality we subscribed for; for others, the issue has miraculously solved itself or some workaround has fixed the issue. Not only is the application different than what we were used to, it's also a clear step back. We are now paying for a service that requires a frustrating and unnecessary extra step to access features that were previously a single click away.
It's also disheartening to see how little support there has been on this issue. Coming on 100 posts in the community, I have noted only one response from a Google team member. Our concerns are not being heard or addressed. We ask for a clear explanation of what happened to the app, a timeline for when we can expect a resolution that restores the original functionality, and a refund of our monthly charges for August and for each month this continues before a fix is implemented.
Thank you.

I have 7 Chromecasts in our home, have tried every solve mentioned with no luck. However, as of this morning my live and library have all returned to the proper place on each unit. I'm not sure how or why but I hope it sticks!

So I had the same problem using my Nvidia shield. I finally opened up YouTube TV app, went to my account ( round circle top right) and said change account the tapped on my regular account (not add new) then everything went back to normal on all my devices.

My Google TV is not listed under services, so this doesn't help.
