So, I was forced to migrate my nest account to google. Now, my nest app on my appletv no longer works. It will not let me log in. Keeps telling me I’ve used an incorrect email or password, which is not true.
If migrating no longer allowed Apple products to view, why want I warned about it?
It is listed on the help centre page and has been that way ever since it was possible to migrate unfortunately.
Android TV and Apple TV
Once you migrate your account, you’ll no longer be able to use the Nest app on Apple TV or on Android TV.
Thanks for the information, davidking!
Chamuit, we hear you! We appreciate users who are keen on sharing with us their thoughts/experience — we'll take this as feedback. I suggest that you send feedback by following the steps on this link. Let me know if I can assist with anything else, otherwise I’ll be locking this thread after 24 hours.
So I have been using google nest for about a year now and have been trying to log in on my Apple TV. I thought it was just a bug but apparently it is not. After googling this issue I have come across multiple threads of people expressing their frustration with this feature no longer working. Which is a shame as this would be a great feature. In all the threads I have read there have been the “customer service” agents saying the “we hear ya” & “we’ll make sure to pass this info on” and yet here we are still complaining about an issue that is clearly not getting fixed. Something that is shown as a feature is really not a feature. Had I know that Google wasn’t going to support their products I would have thought twice about switching over to it!
I understand this has been a frustrating experience especially because this feature makes it easier for you to keep an eye on things with your television and the Nest app for Apple TV. Rest assured that we'll take note of it — we'll ensure that we'll learn from your experience as we continually improve our products and services.
If you have any other concern that we can assist, you know where to find us. Also, please be advised we'll lock the thread if we don't hear back from you after 24 hours.
So basically your response is Thanks but we really don’t give a crap!? We acknowledge that it’s a problem, so we’ll write it down on a sticky note and stick it in the trash!!
What WE have learned from this experience is that Google likes to blow smoke and act like they care about our concerns but in fact they really don’t! It’s apparent that google is not in the market to improve their products based on customer feedback….the only improvements that ACTUALLY matter! 👎🏿
