Google nest thermostat

ckono
Community Member

Yesterday I set up a Nest Thermostat and camera with floodlight.  The person I had originally set the Nest app up with has deleted the account (it had the original camera).  I thought that I would be good to take over since both devices were on my Google Home account, but they have been deleted.

Will the thermostat still work without my access from the app?  I'm not concerned about the camera light.  But with cold settling in, I need to know if the heat will still be on at the setting I left it.

Hi ckono,

Thanks for posting.

Yes you can manually use your Nest Thermostat without having to set it up on the Home/Nest app. Make sure to skip the option to connect to Wi-Fi and Add to app. This way you can just manually control your thermostat.

Best,

Mel
