The nest is showing offline in the android app as well as the web based interface. I checked the actual nest device and it shows online and connected. I can see it connected via the Google Wifi app and just now I opened google home and see two nest devices one show offline and the other can connect to the nest device.

So if this issue started last year why am I having the issue now it should of been corrected! So what can I do because all I see is complaints and no help

Exactly same problem multiple times. Go through the process of resetting just to have the app say it’s offline again a couple days later. Might as well have kept my old wall thermostat. No solution after a year of reporting it!

Same issue and it is March 2023

Hello! I am having the same issue. The thermostat says offline and cannot show weather. But when I check network it is connected to the wifi. The App also says the thermostat is offline. Not sure what to do?
thanks

Reinstalled app. No problem there. Thermostat says connected to Wi-Fi, which is during. But for 24 hours, my iPhone app said offline for upstairs and downstairs. Big problem. Please help. Jerome S Blackman, MD

I have the same issue.  It’s connected and works if I use the actual device but app keeps showing offline. The battery is fine.   What’s the fix?

Unfortunately, there isn’t a fix. You just have to wait for it to reconnect automatically as Nest refuse to admit they have issues with the device or the App.

Return it and buy something else. There isn’t a fix and google don’t seem interested to sort

Can’t return it as there is no evidence that the fault is with the Nest device or even the App. Also my device is out of warranty as I’ve had it about 3 years now.

Still thermostat is offline.

I am on bbattery

Nest on the wall shows on line. But when we pull it up on our phones it still shows it's off line.

Get rid of it asap. Remove the nest app and nest thermostat. Get a standard thermostat. I did and my system has been working flawlessly.

Mine just did the exact same thing. App says offline.  Nest is connected.  My internet and routers are working perfectly. Any fix?

I reinstall the app and it works for like 1 day then goes offline again. Apparently GOOGLE does not read these forums

My app started working again the next day. No idea why it stopped working or what fixed it as I didn’t note any updates to the app.

I see this problem back into November, and here it is mid-December. Is this all we can hope for, Google?

This problem started back in February. I think it’s an app issue but no one wants to confirm or deny. Personally I think it’s something to do with migrating all the Nest accounts to Google.

Merry Christmas and a Happy new year 🥳

Never had a problem with the Google mesh Wi-Fi app but once I migrated to the Home App I have the same issue. Google not too interested based on common issue

Has anyone figured out how to fix this issue with the app? I ready to just throw my whole nest home in the garbage.

Get rid of it asap. Remove the nest app and nest thermostat. Get a standard thermostat. I did and my system has been working flawlessly.

i have the same issue here.  It looks like this is a problem with the app.  I'm on iOS and my app is showing offline status, but the thermostat is online and connected. i have 4 thermostats and 1 yale. these are on and off recently.

I have 4 thermostats and one of them seems having this problem recently. Every thing is fine and says offline on the web or iphone app. Other three are fine. Help!

I have the same issue. Nest is online but home app says it's not  I have restarted the device and also reset to factory settings. Home app sees the nest is online for several hours and then says it's offline when  it's not. Need solution.

Mine resolved itself so no idea why it stopped working correctly or what resolved it.

I had to remove the Nest thermostat from my entire account and then add it back. Been working ever since. Only downside was I had to readd all the temperature sensors manually.

Same darn problem. Sick of Goggle Nest products. If everyone is having these issues, you all (Google) need to figure this out because it’s happening entirely too much.
always selling such but never have solutions. Sucks to be going through this.

I am experiencing this issue: the thermostat has power and a strong wifi signal - also says it's online; however, on my iOS app as well as on my laptop chrome browser at home.nest.com it shows as offline.  I only just installed it yesterday, which was an incredible ordeal that required me to remove the device from the wall and place it next to my router (despite having a strong wifi signal in its original location).  I woke up this morning to see the app saying it is offline since "an hour ago", despite that clearly not being the case.

Based on my experience, as well as what I see others report, this seems like the issue is actually with the nest.com servers/systems, and not the device or apps.

Has anyone discovered any other links/articles suggesting this is a known bug and/or other troubleshooting steps?  I see that it magically cleared itself up for Silverwingedbird.

I'm having the same issues as stated. Funny thing is I have 2 stats (1 upstairs, 1 down) and the router is also upstairs. The stat that's closest to the router is the one I'm having issues with showing offline. I'm using Android phone btw. Any fix yet?

I fount out the problem I just did a factory reset on the thermostat itself in the settings and it's been working good ever since!!

This worked for me. Thanks.

Hope its solved your problem.
Just to let you know, I also did that and it worked for a few weeks the started happening again. I also reverted the nest to rollback latest update and that too worked for several weeks then started happening again.
I’m now convinced it’s a problem with the nest servers continuing the link with mobile phones.

Me too!  Except I’m using an iPhone. So frustrating after paying for so many people to install and only work a week.

Also having the same issue as everyone else on this thread. I have done several factory resets in the last couple of months as well as countless normal resets. Works for a couple of hours and then the home app shows an error. I am at the point where I am going to swap the thermostat for something that works. Any suggestions out there?

How do I do a factory reset?  I’ve spent hours on this problem and no fix.
