Not receiving password reset email from nest

Not receiving password reset email from nest

Checked spam filter not hitting spam filter.

Added accounts.nest.com and nest.com to the whitelist on the spam filter.

Still no email.

Please provide some next steps.

Call [REDACTED].  They helped me reset my password.

frustrating …. I have 22 products in my nest. I can’t use them in my new phone ; still can operate under my old one.  Tell us how to reset nest’s password ….. no email with the promised linked being received….

I have not received an email to reset my password ether. I have comcast and all of my emails are set up to go to my gmail account as well...nothing!

email to reset not being sent.  also, in order to sign with Google, Google wants access to all my info.

I’m having the same problem trying to log into the app but need to reset password and not receiving emails to do that.

done all the checks, how can this be resolved ASAP? It’s ridiculous

Garrett lots of your customers have a problem getting an email for password reset. It is your problem to fix.

Your customers have tried without success all your suggestions. Out two cameras have been offline for over 2 months. Unless this problem is fixed I will install another system.

I am having the same issues as everyone here.   I have a Nest thermostat.  Suddenly one day I could not get in to the app to change the temp when away from my home.   I have used the correct password.  Yes, correct email address, yes it is a gmail account.  Yes, have checked spam.   Tried four times to reset password and I never get the email from you to change it.  PLEASE HELP!!

yes, Garrett. saw your message. SMH. all I wanted was a password reset. nevermind. maybe I will try the Amazon smart thermostat for $60.

Garrett.. Same  thing. Please dont insult me by resending the same  4 step  checklist.  Been there & done that.   NON GMAIL email.. NOT  getting a rest link.. Is there anything  else ? I have 10 Nest cams I cannot migrate.  For some reason my password isn't working & I cannot rest it. .....NOW WHAT ?

I am having all of the same issues.  I've went through the steps, and of course, it didn't work.  I'll be taking anything nest and Google related out of my home due to the horrible customer service.  The rep that has been responding on this thread is not helpful at all.  He just keeps repeating himself and not reading responses.  Goodbye Nest!

I think the issue is related to the transfer of nest to google.  My nest doorbell was setup prior to the google buyout and I never migrated to a google account instead choosing to keep my nest account.  I feel this is related to nest accounts that did not migrate.  Seems like Nest and/or  may no longer be supporting password resets on non-google accounts.  I hope not.  These products are too expensive.

My account is old... pre migration to google.  I know that I am using the correct email address because I still have old emails from drop cam.  Have checked all mail including spam.

@GarrettDS I am yet another customer who has had a Nest for several years with an account that is not tied to a gmail account. It is obvious from this thread that there is more going on here. All of these people contacting you to tell you that they cannot login and cannot reset their password. I am getting emails - FROM NEST - to the account in question. Google needs to fix this because the answer isn't found in our spam folders or the whitelist.

You have to call and actually talk to a person at 1-855-469-6378.  You won't get anything done on here with that GarrettDS guy.  If you can talk to someone, they can manually send you the email to change your password while on the phone with them.  That is what happened in my case.

I would love to switch my nest to the google email, but in order to do that I need to get into my nest account which I need to reset password because it is not working with the info I have . Please help me so I can migrate my nest account to Google. I have tried all the steps on this thread.

Same problem. No reset email ever sent. Yes, did all the 4 steps GarrettDS that you have helpfully sent numerous times. So what is the phone number for customer support. More importantly, does anyone have a recommendation on an Apple thermostat? 

Your customer service is **bleep** and I’ll be using a Ring from now on.  Migration whipped out my account and you can tell your engineers to figure their **bleep** out.

I’ve read the above posts but still can’t sign into our Nest account using our Nest email and password. And yes, it’s the correct email, and yes, I’ve told Nest to send me an email to reset my password maybe 20 times. No emails in my personal or gmail accounts. What next?

Thanks for your patience on this, I wanted to let you all know that I have been in contact with our engineering team on this. They wanted to confirm that you are using the same email address for your Nest account as well. 

For the non-gmail users, please check with your email provider to see if they can see any email delivery issues on their end and let us know.

This is yet another example of how poorly Google treat their customers.  I like many others that have gmail accounts and are more than capable of checking the spam folder and other steps constantly repeated in this thread are not getting reset emails.  As usual Google hide behind weak excuses and no resolution.

Sorry, but I tend to agree with the member who is also disappointed in Google’s attention to this Nest matter. We appreciate your attention Garrett but responses are SO delayed, and the answers are SO frustrating and unhelpful that it makes me wonder if Google products are worth purchasing. Garrett, checking our spam folder and making sure that we’re using the same email address as our Nest account is SO elementary that although I appreciate you mentioning, I’m surprised that you bother. Come on Google help - you gotta do better than this! Yes, I have a gmail account (for like ages!), yes, my email account is the same as my Nest account and after literally a DOZEN attempts, I still never received password reset emails, and yes, UGH…of COURSE we’ve all checked our spam folder! NOW…….heavy sigh……what - is - the - solution?!?! Go back into Nest and fix the problem. How difficult is it to get Nest to send us the ability to reset our password? Seriously, no other company with products I have, have this issue. Do you want me to switch to Ring, Logitech, Eufy, or any other many of the camera companies I could switch to? Ugggghhhhh…….
