Nest Doorbell Camera Peeling/Failing

My Nest Hello has been failing for the last few months. 

It goes offline and seems to not have power. I have done all of the breaker/power off then on stuff, factory reset the device, had the electrical lines checked, had the 3yr/old transformer replaced (and verified that it's the correct size), and it still has issues. The wifi hub is only about 15 feet away and I've tried resetting it multiple times.

The device does not seem to have power, but as I said above, I've checked all of that. If I pull the device from the wall and plug it into a usb power source it flips on and I can disconnect the usb and it'll work for hours/days and then stop working again.

NOW, the front face is peeling and it's looking ugly. This thing is falling apart. I contacted Google Support and after about 45 mins of chatting through troubleshooting steps they said it's out of warranty (purchased in 2018) and there's nothing they can do. I tried pressing them further but was told that it's standard for products to have a warranty period and that once that's over, you're out of luck. 

I own a LOT of google devices and this is the only one that's started falling apart. It's expensive and I expected it to last longer than 3.5 years.

Sorry to vent, I'm just frustrated.
