Nest Hello - weird audio issue

Every time I preview the video feed from my Nest Hello doorbell, it plays out (in it's speaker) sounds it's  built in microphone is picking up (not the microphone on the device i am looking in with - and I have not pressed the microphone button). That is to say, if you were to ring my doorbell, as soon as i open the video feed, even if i don't hit the microphone button to speak, you will be able to hear yourself and others on the street played back via the nest hello doorbell.

At best, this means when i do want to speak to someone, they've already heard a lot of confusing sounds and can't understand what's going on. At the worst, when people happen to be passing by and I am trying to monitor my front garden passers by can hear themselves talking through my doorbell and/or screeching sounds due to other noises.

anyone else had this type of issue?

Hi there, Lukman.

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. Have you tried to restart your Nest Hello? I feel like this might really help if you haven't tried so far. Is there anything that could be messing with the sound quality? Anything blocking the the sound? How is your internet connection? If you have poor signal strength, then you may need to restart your Nest Hello and move your wifi closer so that it has a stronger signal. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Thanks Brad however I believe you may have misunderstood the issue. The device has been restarted (both power cycle and reset) and the app tested via multiple devices. The internet signal is strong. However, the issue is not a sound quality issue. The issue is that the nest hello doorbell outputs (in it's built in speaker) the audio it recieves via it's built in microphone (an echo)... one could say that the monitoring device might be too close to the doorbell and there is an audio loop... however that should only happen if the monitoring device (such as a mobile phone being used to look in on the doorbell) has had the microphone icon pressed (the one you'd press to speak to the person at the door)... the symptoms described are happening even when that icon is not being pressed.... which would suggest that audio from the monitoring device is being recieved by the doorbell despite the microphone icon not being pressed.
