Nest hello, replacement lens cover

Scotty306

I have a Nest Hello Doorbell which I have had since they were released over 2 years ago.

The lacquer is peeling badly and the lens cover has fallen off.

Is it possible to get a replacement lens?

I see from other posts that I'm not alone, but there doesn't seem to be any follow up response just locked threads from admin!

Same issue here. I’m pretty upset about it too.

Unfortunately spare parts for the Nest devices are not readily available. You can try contacting support but almost every time people report back that support wasn’t able to send parts. The peeling issue in particular has been continuously reported by users and every time it seems the “solution” is to purchase a new unit. Crazy.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, Google doesn't offer spare parts. If the device is not under warranty, I am afraid I don't know what you can do. If you have further questions, please contact Support as we do not process replacement inquiries in the forums.

Best regards,

Brad

Why doesn't Google Nest offer spare parts? Ring, Arlo, Wyze, and Blink all sell spare parts.

You are welcome to ask Support that question.

I tried contacting Support at the link you provided on Friday afternoon and evening and again on Saturday morning.  All three times I selected Chat since the wait time indicated was less than one minute.  All three times, however, after filling in the form to start the chat, it stalled saying "Creating chat session..."  After a long wait with the chat session never starting, I tried again each time, and this time it said "Chat closed".  So, I waited awhile, and then tried again.  Once again it said the Chat wait time was less than 1 minute.  But after filling out the form yet again, it once again stalled saying "Creating chat session".  So then I exited my Firefox browser, opened the Chrome browser and tried again.  Once again it said the Chat wait time was less than 1 minute.  So I filled in the form AGAIN, and once AGAIN it stalled saying "Creating chat session."

It seems that Google Nest's Chat support function has been broken for the last two days.

After two of the failed attempts, I received an email from Google Nest Support saying my chat session, which NEVER started, had been "interrupted".  When I replied and told them what was happening, their response was "we didn't come across any issues".

So, the Chat function is broken, but Google Nest Support insists it is not.
