Nest wired cam - flickering from overhead led lights

resolaru

I recently installed (2) Nest wired indoor cameras.  When the overhead led lights are on, both cameras have what looks like a 60hz rolling image when viewing them.  When the lights are turned off, the 60hz flickering goes away.  I've seen flourescent lights cause this issue, but am surprised that led lights are doing this.  The led lights are the long 4 foot tube shop lights.  From my past experience with working with TV/Monitors/Cameras, this is usually caused by some type of electrical interference.  I'm not sure why these new cameras are doing this, though.  The cameras are plugged into 2 different outlets.  I'm not sure if they are on the same circuit or not, though.

Any help is appreciated.

Hey there,

If you are having issues with your Nest Cam or Nest Doorbell, I would suggest that you first start by restarting it.

Restart: Keeps all your settings, and it should reconnect to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever becomes frozen, has trouble reconnecting to the internet, or isn't working normally.

Best regards,

Brad

It’s not an issue with connectivity. It has to do with the fact that Nest cam 2nd gen starts acting funny once I turn on the LED spot lights in the room. In sum the Nest cam 2nd gen only works when the LED lights are off! This is a product flaw for sure. See below:

I own 4 of the older version Nest cam and two 2nd gen, all of which are indoor, wired. The older version cameras do not have this issue (I have owned them for several years). I have all six  cameras hooked up to exactly the same wifi network. Only the 2nd gen cameras have this flaw! The older version works perfectly fine.

Are you serious? I have spent multiple hours by chat with two different Google nest camera specialists and have also posted on this thread searching for answers and no one yet has provide an intelligent solution to this. The problem persists guys. The grand solution google has provided is to switch the quality of the video to Max. Surely you can think of something else no?

here’s a link shot this morning 4:30 am when it is quite dark. As I turn on the lights you will appreciate how terrible the quality of the video streaming is. This problem is ONLY seen on my TWO second gen Nest cam. The first generation cameras (I have four in my house) are working fine and provide good night vision as well.

Add me to the list.  I have 5 original nest cameras and just moved one from my garage to my basement utility room.  This new Nest Cam Indoor wired unit has interference from my LED shop lighting.

Odd thing is.  If you reboot the camera, it's fine for the first couple min.
