New Nest wireless camera will not add to the Google home app

I have multiple nest products including a wired cam, a wireless cam, and a doorbell. I purchased another new wireless camera and when I try to add it to the app it reads the QR code and then kicks me right back to the home screen on the app.

I have tried resetting the camera with the hard reset button and tried adding it by manually entering It's serial number..

Nothing works.

Help!

UPDATE:

I used a Samsung tablet i have previously installed google home onto.
I opened home, add device, scan QR code , and start setup.

This functioned correctly.  The Camera was seen, updated connected to my Wi-Fi and it is all good.

Id still like to know why this failed when using my Google Pixel 6 pone and the google home app.

PC.

I’m having the same issue. I’ve got several devices in my home and for some reason I cannot find this wireless camera when I search for new device, then when I specifically choose to snap the QR code it won’t connect to assisting device. I just returned a camera because of this and now the replacement is the same..

Same issue for me too. I enter the QR code manually or scan and it just flicks me back to the home page with the device list. Setup wont continue and factory reset wont work either.

Hi Jackson,

I'm having the exact same issue. Did you end up coming up with a solution?

I tried using a different device like PC suggested but it still didn't connect

Hey folks,

I'm sorry for the delay. A few questions: What type of Nest camera do you have? Does the phone you use have a QR code scan feature? Is this the first time you’re installing the device? Also, are they scanning the QR code in a well lit environment? Keep us posted.

Thanks,

Archie

I recently purchased a Nest cam battery and had the same connection issues. The solution was to remove my nest doorbell from the Google Home app (and took the doorbell itself out of wifi range) and re run the Camera installation and it worked fine. Adding the doorbell back was easy as it remembered the wifi credentials. Interestingly I didn't need to remove my google home hub (gen 2).
