Somewhat  blurry area after installation

We just installed a Google Nest wired doorbell (2nd gen) and have noticed one area of the picture is somewhat  blurry.   After close examination of the lens (with a magnifying glass) , we can see a very small scratch.   I don't think this was done during the installation (but hey - maybe).    I could uninstall everything and get a complete replacement but we only just the doorbell unit.

Is it possible to buff out the lens or can nest just replace the doorbell unit?

Hi @pjones1063

If it were me, I would contact support for warranty return or return it to place of purchase. That very well could be a manufacturing defect. Support likely would want the whole unit returned.

I don't think I would even try to buff it. Clean it, just to be sure it's not a smudge though.

Hope that helps.

Jill

Thanks,  Contacted support and did about an hour of basic diagnostics.   In the end, exchanged it for another and all is up and good!

Thanks for that follow up and glad to hear they helped out with the exchange. I would have done the same thing.
