Stream Nest Cam (Battery) with Google Assistant on Phone

This question has been asked multiple times, and community managers respond like bots without answering. When I want to view a camera stream from my phone, my only option seems to be by tapping into the Home app, tapping cameras, and selecting the camera I want to view. That's cumbersome. Why can't I just say "Hey Google, show me the backyard camera?"

 

When I try that, I get the error message you see in the attached screenshot. It works fine from a Nest Hub Max. Why not from my phone?

 

If this question hasn't had an answer, don't ask if I still need one. I do. Thanks.

Hi NeverStark,

Google hasn't made this feature available yet as well as not being able to view the Nest 2 Gen cameras on a Chromecast device, I have no idea why this is.

They have said that they will be adding features this year. I use the 'device controls' homescreen shortcut menu for quickly viewing my Nest cameras.

Sorry that I don't have any exact information about when this will become available, I am a normal user myself and just part of the Product experts program.
