Wired Doorbell

I lost all wifi to a lightning strike. It knocked out the primary google wifi router. This was replaced and all other devices connected back up with a reboot except my doorbell. I have rebooted several times (including factory reboot)but it does not show up in google home to be reconnected. The light of the doorbell is on and the bell rings at the doorbell.

Also not sure which generation of doorbell I have. It is about 4 years old

I need some advice to proceed beyond this point. Everything I read does not address my particular issue.

You mentioned needing to replace your primary Wifi router. Assuming you have other Wifi points, did you also factory reset those and set them up again because that's required if you replace your primary router. The easiest way to check if everything is good from a Wifi perspective is to do a mesh test.

Now to your doorbell. If it's 4 years old, you have the original Nest Doorbell (wired) also known as Nest Hello. You mentioned having factory reset it, was that by following these steps? Scroll down to the factory reset section and refer to the steps for Nest Doorbell (wired).

What colour is the light on your doorbell? You can check what the colours mean in this help article. Refer to the Google Nest Doorbell (wired) section. The light ring should be pulsing blue, which means it's ready for setup in the Nest app. It sounds as though you're checking in the Google Home app, but that model of doorbell is setup and managed from a connectivity perspective in the Nest app so it's best to head to that app. Once you get it sorted in the Nest app, it will also be accessible in the Google Home app.

Your solution worked with my phone and I am connected to Nest and Home. However when I tried to get my wife's phone to connect, Nest wanted me to disconnect from the system to allow her access. There must be a work around for this. Can you help. I appreciate what you sent to date as I am back on line. Thanks

To share your doorbell and other devices, invite your wife's account/email address to the home:

Share a home and devices in the Google Home app - Google Nest Help

The email address you invite must be a personal Gmail account, or if the person you’re inviting to the home uses another email provider, they must create a Google account using that email address. Once they receive and accept the invite, your device(s) will show up in their Nest or Google Home apps, as appropriate.

I have tried to find how to share my home and account in the Home app and cannot find it. My wife has shared access to all the devices in home except the Nest Doorbell. Thanks

Click this link:
Share a home and devices in the Google Home app - Google Nest Help

Scroll down to the "Manage home members" section

Scroll down further to the "Invite members to a home" section and expand that

That section explains how to invite your wife to the home
