Nest App continuous login issue

My Nest App is asking me to login with Google. I login (which looks ok) but as soon as it’s about to bring up the Home Screen is crashes and goes back out to initial login page again.

No, deleted app and re-downloaded and no success. Soon as gets into app - crashes back out to login page, could see the thermostat for a split second

Hi, I’ve done the following

I rebooted the device the app is on (iPhone 11).  Tried the sign in and immediately logged out again.

Tried the link and was able to login without any issues.

Tried a Samsung phone and again no issue login.

The issue appears to be on this phone for some reason. I’ve deleted the app several times and still no luck.

@Murphal, thanks for trying. That will help us a lot in isolating the issue. Have you checked if there is any recent update on the iOs software on your iPhone 11?

Hi, the iPhone is on the latest version (iOS 16.6). Any app updates would already be done so if Nest App had an update, I would have done that.

A bit mire detail to be clear. Deleted App then rebooted device. Installed App but no change. The way issue happens is, open Nest App and asked to sign in with Google. Pick Google account (email), then have to press “Allow” to next page. Opening Nest. Nest then opens on Home/Away assist setup page, closes that page and opens same Home away assist page again and then logs out back to initial Sign in with Google screen. This happens in the space of approx. 1 second

Thanks for checking, Just a few questions: Are you using an iPhone? And when you go to the https://goo.gle/2qjvVSU did you use the same email address that’s on the Nest app?

Yes I used same email address. It was working that way the other day. Now I get into Nest and when go to camera it says I need to update my browser

Can I ask what is happening with this as I pay a subscription for Nest Aware and I cannot use the App for a week at this point

Hey there, 

I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. We just want to check what software version you are on your Nest App? And if you already  tried disabling the settings for cross-site tracking? If not, just go to the settings on your iOs device, select the option for Safari then tap Cross-Site Tracking where you turn it off.

Did this as you said and still doesn’t work. So that’s cool

Hi 

This did not work when I turned off the setting. It made me type the full email and password before bringing me to page where I have to press “Allow” to move on. Then Nest opens, opens & closes Away assist twice and back to asking for login. 

The Nest Version is 5.72.0.5

  • My husband has had no issues on his device with the same app. My phone is up to date. When I try going through the website you provided, it doesn’t allow me to access my doorbell and tries to make me set up a new doorbell. However, it doesn’t even give me an option to do so.

Can someone help me as I am also paying for this and still cannot access anything?????
