2nd generation nest protect mounting plate replacement

I am trying to get a replacement mounting plate for my nest protect but no one sells them .

Have spoken to Google who told me contact the shop I bought from. 
they told me you cannot buy just the plate I have to buy a new nest protect.

I find it very strange that you cannot even buy from Google who has them in stock but won’t sell to me.

any help would be appreciated.
