I cannot access the app. to scan my Nest Protect Smoke Detector. Sign in with Google using my gmail just takes me to the Google browser. Sign in with Nest I cannot do as I need to use my Nest password, which I cannot create as I cannot access the Nest phone app. I can access the Nest Home webpage on my desktop, but that just tells me to use the app. to scan the device, which I cannot.
Used different gmails, rebooted phone and uninstalled and reinstalled app. several times without success. Even had a tech on the phone for a while who was also unable to assist.
Ready to return.
Was wondering if it needs a 5g phone? Mine is not 5g. Please advise.

Hi @JGAM
Is your Nest account created and used before August 19 2019?
If so your account is still a Nest account that can be migrated to your Google account.
This way you migrate from a Nest only account to your Google account. 😊
After this migration you should be able to login in the Nest app with your Google account.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Have you seen the questions that RXShorty has asked? Also, are you using an Android or an iOS device? If you are on Android, make sure that your phone software is updated to OS 8 or above. If you're on iOS, make sure to update your phone’s software to OS 12 or above.
I’ll look forward to your response.
I appreciate your help, @RXShorty.
