Heat detector - new Scottish legislation

I was just reading on the Scottish Government Website:

Please note that the Nest Protect System will not meet the standard. This is because they do not meet the requirements for a heat alarm under the relevant British Standard. British Standard (BS 5839-6:2019) states that only heat alarms should be installed in kitchens.

Quite annoying as I'm gonna have to replace them all unless if anyone knows of a heat detector in the works?

Me too. In exactly the same boat. About time Google Nest resolved this question which has been getting posted on their forums for a couple of years at least.

I get the sneaky feeling they're ignoring this one. Not enough customer impact (only the one country)

Really poor customer service not to even address this. In fact any communication would be better than radio silence 😓
