Please help if possible! I just got my Nest Protect 2nd generation back from my son and the plastic battery cover is missing. The device was malfunctioning but I fixed it (that's another story). Anyway, I'd like to test it for a few days in my house before putting into my rental home but can't set it up for testing at my house because I see no QR code or 6-digit code and the app does not appear to offer any other option to move forward with set up. I'm guessing those codes must have been on the missing battery cover. What can I do? I can use my Android phone or a desktop. Thank you in advance! - Suzy

You need the QR code or the 6 digit entry key located next to the QR code. Without either of those, you won't be able to add it to the app.

The response was not very helpful because I had indicated I didn't have the information you said I needed. But then we found the back of the unit, which was initially missing.
Thanks,
Suzy
