Nest Protect / Flow switch integration

Has anyone successfully integrated the Nest Protect with a sprinkler system flow switch?  I’m building a new house and the nest protect meets my state requirements but I’m not sure how well it integrates with a flow switch (another state requirement).  The requirement is for the alarm to sound once a sprinkler head is activated.  Would love any insight.  Thanks!

Hello Eichergm,

Thanks for posting here in the Community. The Nest Protect sensor will only trigger if you have smoke, carbon monoxide, heat, and humidity in the house. So you will get an alert if there is smoke in a particular room, but it will not activate an alarm if your sprinkler is activated. Check out this link to learn more about the sensor in the Nest Protect.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks,

Edmond

Thank you for your followup. My state Fire Marshall requires the sprinkler system activate the alarms with a flow switch.  Other wired alarm systems are capable of this so I am hoping there is a solution using the Nest.
