Nest Protect Smoke Alarm battery version ceiling plate doesn't fit junction box

I recently purchased a Nest Protect Smoke Alarm with intention of installing it over top of my ceiling junction box (I prefer the flexibility of the battery version even though I want to install it where it could otherwise be wired.)    To my dismay, the ceiling mounting plate is not the same as the wired version and the screw spacing does not fit a standard junction box.

Is google able to provide the wired version mounting plate for my battery version nest protect smoke alarm?

Be careful, lots of places have fire codes that require wired interconnect between units.
