Nest Protect being discontinued

As the Protect smoke and CO2 alarms are being discontinued and it doesn't seem there is a replacement in the UK I am unsure what to do. I have 5 alarms which do not expire until November 2030. Can I apply for a refund for an expiring product? If so will it mean they no longer work? Or will they continue to work with the app until November 2030?

We don't have Nest Protects, but this is Google Nest's blog post on the subject:

Nest Protect will continue working with the app until the expiry date on the product, and every smoke detector you buy regardless of brand will expire in around 10 years.
