Middle of the day we got four or five false alarms in about 20 minutes on our downstairs Nest Protect saying there was smoke. There definitely was not any smoke and we opened all the doors and windows just to make sure fresh air was getting in. It is from 2016 and this is the first time this has happened. It is hardwired and there have been no warnings of any kind prior to this. I finally had to unhook the offending Protect. It doesn’t look at all dirty or dusty. Seems like a malfunction of some sort. Any ideas on what to do

I have been experiencing the same issue with one of my wired protect units. Any help would be appreciated. After waking us up in the middle of the night a few times, I've had to take the unit down. I'd like to know if it needs to be fixed or replaced.

I took my cover off and gently vacuumed everything even though it looked clean. It’s been several days now and no repeats. Only time will tell
