After checking the app and discovering that the nest protect systems we have, which are six devices throughout the house are all off-line. Why? Wi-Fi has not changed and is working throughout the house with the 20 other devices that we have.
They are second generation and have been installed for around five weeks. A Wi-Fi reboot was performed with no results.

have done a factory reset of router with no change with nest products.
Our 3rd Gen NEST thermostat and sensor is all good.

also pressed the button on two of the nest protects and got a notification it was checking network. Answered with please check again later....
Also tried with another router with same network settings.....no results...

And now everything seems to be back to normal. Frustrating when it seems that there is no issue with the status of the system.....
